Tungsten Carbide Powder Recycling from Tungsten Waste

At present, the recovery and processing of tungsten waste has become a large scale, forming industry, mainly using tungsten waste to treat the sodium tungstate with wet process. This method has a large amount of treatment and is widely used for the tungsten containing waste. However, this method has serious pollution to the environment and the process is more complex.

Tungsten oxide has been oxidized and roasted after impurity removal, and tungsten carbide powder has been produced by SHS reduction process. The specific process is as follows:

(1) The tungsten wastes were first purified by sulfuric acid solution and then dried in a calciner to be baked in a calciner to control the temperature at 500°C for 8 hours, then cooled to the normal temperature, and tungsten oxide was 65%.

(2) Tungsten oxide: 50 ~ 65%. Aluminum powder: 10 ~ 25%. Sodium nitrate: 2 ~ 5%. Calcium fluoride: 1 ~ 2.5%. Calcium carbide: 1 ~ 10%. Carbon black: 0 ~ 8%.

Put the above ingredients in the mixer and mix for 21~30 minutes to ensure the material is mixed evenly.

(3) The mixed material is put into the prepared reacting furnace many times. First, the volume of the mixed material is 1/3 of the volume in the reactor, the temperature of the furnace is ignited, the temperature of the furnace is controlled at 3400~3600°C, the mixed material is gradually added to the reaction. When the volume of the reaction after the reaction is 3/4 of the volume of the reactor, the volume of the reaction is stopped. Through the treatment of the reaction furnace, the carbon disconnection and burning loss are controlled until the cooling reaches normal temperature.

(4) After discharge, the material is washed in acidic solution to remove impurities.

(5) After sampling and analysis, after being qualified, dry treatment, then sieving, packaging and warehousing according to customer requirements.

It can be directly used in industrial production, simple operation, low labor cost, energy saving and environmental protection. The waste gas contains recyclable tungsten. The method of cyclone dust removal and water spray can be all recovered, and the dual requirements of recycling and environmental protection are achieved.
