Lanthanum Cerium Rhenium Erbium Multicomponent Composite Tungsten Electrode

Argon arc welding is an arc welding method using argon as protective gas, and the arc occurs between electrodes and weldments. Argon is formed around the arc to form a continuous closed air flow for protecting arc and molten pool.

The multiple composite rare-earth tungsten electrode material can precisely control the heat input and weld pool size of the butt welds and meet the requirements of argon arc welding electrodes. The main components are tungsten, cerium, lanthanum, yttrium, erbium and other rare earth elements and rhenium.

(1) The powder of tungsten matrix is added into the dopant pot and mixed with deionized water to get a uniform suspension. The mixture of lanthanum nitrate, cerium nitrate, rhenium nitrate and erbium nitrate is mixed and stirred in the suspension, and the mixed alloy powder is obtained by heating and drying.

(2) The mixed alloy powder was reduced two times: First reduction: The mixed powder was reduced in a single tube hydrogen reduction furnace, the dew point was lower than -30°C pure hydrogen protection, the temperature was 500~600°C, the reduction time was 30-60 minutes. The second reduction: The reduced powder was reduced in the thirteen tube furnace and the dew point was lower than the pure hydrogen at -30°C. The protection temperature is 800~900°C, the reduction time is 30-40 minutes. After the two reduction, screening rare earth tungsten composite powder.

(3) After the reduction of rare earth tungsten composite powder, the molding agent is added 0.2 to 1%, and the bar is pressed on the die of the oil press, and the applied pressure is 100 ~ 150Mpa.

(4) The pressed billet is sintered in two stages. The first stage is 300~800°C, 3-5 hours. The second stage: the temperature is 800~1200°C, 1-3 hours.

(5) The sintered tungsten strip was sintered at the vertical sintering equipment with hydrogen protection. The sintering temperature was °C and the sintering time was 30-50 minutes.

(6) The sintered strip is heated to 1400~1450°C and heat preservation for 10-20 minutes. The billet and rotary forging are made on the rotary forging machine, and the alloy wire is processed by spinning and drawing to the wire diameter of the product. Finally, the electrode products are made after cutting, polishing and cleaning.

The matrix of multielement rare earth composite tungsten electrode has good high temperature properties, high sintering strength, good arc erosion resistance, good thermal electron emission performance, good welding performance, and satisfying the requirements of argon arc welding, and the greatest potential is no radioactive, green environmental protection.
