Copper Tungsten Ore Recycle Method

Copper and tungsten compounds are symbiosis in a mineral deposit. Such deposits are called copper tungsten deposits. The recycle method of copper and tungsten ores generally adopts the principle process of selecting tungsten after copper sulphur first, and reduces the loss of tungsten in copper concentrate and sulphur concentrate as far as copper and sulfur are recovered as much as possible.

There are three kinds of floatation processes for copper-sulphide ore: 1 preferential flotation, 2 mixed-separation flotation, 3 semi-preferential mixing-separation flotation. Tungsten ore dressing is based on the nature of the ore by re-election, flotation or joint process. The following is an example of two copper tungsten ore recovery for reference.

Some useful minerals in a copper tungsten ore include chalcopyrite and bornite. The associated minerals are mainly pyrite and a small amount of scheelite, wolframite and silver. Zhou Yuan et al. used preferential flotation of copper based on ore properties, combined collector 731+oleic acid, water glass as inhibitor to float white wolfram, and scheelite crude concentrate heating and selection, containing 0.97% Cu, 0.74% WO₃, copper concentrate grade 18.35%, copper recovery 94.64%, scheelite grade 60.35% WO₃, scheelite recycle 76.41%.

A copper tungsten mine in Jiangxi contains 0.74%Cu, 0.078%WO₃, and 18.69g/tAg. The main metallic minerals are chalcopyrite, pyrite and pyrite, followed by arsenopyrite, scheelite and a small amount of arsenopyrite. The closed circuit test of the recovery of tungsten with copper sulfur mixed flotation reflotation and copper sulfur tailings reflotation was carried out. The copper concentrate with a yield of 2.16%, a copper grade of 30.35%Cu and a copper recovery rate of 92.94% was obtained from the original ore containing 0.74%Cu and 0.078%WO₃, and the tungsten concentrate with a yield of 0.17%, a tungsten grade of 33.10%WO₃ and a tungsten recycle rate of 73.59%.
