Raman spectrum is a scattering spectrum. Raman spectroscopy is based on the Raman scattering effect discovered by Indian scientist Raman. The scattering spectra with different incident light frequencies are analyzed to obtain molecular vibration and rotation information and applied to the analysis of molecular structure.
Due to the Raman spectroscopy can detect the presence of tungsten oxide surface defects. Using stoichiometric tungsten oxide as a comparative sample, the resulting tungsten oxide nanomaterials can be analyzed by Raman spectroscopy. The Raman spectrum of tungsten oxide consists of three characteristic vibration bands at 269, 712 and 803 cm, respectively. These vibrations correspond to the bending vibration of the tungsten-oxygen bond and the stretching vibration of the tungsten-oxygen bond. In contrast to tungsten oxide, the vibration band of tungsten oxide at 200-400 cm and 600-900 cm is much wider and less intense. This is due to the broadening of the tungsten-oxygen bond length in hexagonal tungsten oxide.
This change is due to the vibration of pentavalent tungsten ions in the defective tungsten oxide. At the same time, it was also proved that the obtained tungsten oxide nanomaterial does contain a large amount of oxygen defects. In addition, changes in oxygen vacancies in the sample can also be characterized by electron spin resonance. The defect tungsten oxide curve g = 1.89 has an obvious signal peak, and the EPR spectrum of tungsten oxide did not find any obvious signal peak. For tungsten oxide, a signal of g = 1.89 is believed to be due to the presence of defects. This situation has been reported in other literature and these results are consistent with XPS non-stoichiometric properties.
