Sea pole fishing sinker, also known as big fishing sinker, is mainly used for long shot sea fishing. 

There are many kinds of big fishing sinkers, such as lead, tin, and tungsten alloy, etc. Its weight varies from several grams to more than 100 grams.

 

According to shapes, there are following six kinds of sea pole fishing sinker:

 

1. Flat and wafer fishing sinker: it is common used in freshwater ponds, rivers, lakes and reservoirs. It’s lighter, generally between 10~20 grams, and it can be thrown 40 - 60 meters away. It has certain floating dynamic and sinks slowly in water. It’s not easy to fall into the water mud, which is suitable for fishing in the water depth of 3 meters. It has the advantages of small resistance, quick line folding without hanging on the bottom.

 

2.Diamond fishing sinker: also called mufti-dimensional stereo fishing sinker, with 4 surface and 6 surface, 20 - 40 grams. When thrown, it has fast speed, 80 - 100 meters away. It’s suitable for use in water with higher flow velocity, and is commonly used in river fishing or sea fishing.

 

3.Turtle shaped fishing sinker: it is about 3 cm long,  2 cm wide, 1 cm thick,  20~80 grams heavy, and it can be thrown 60-80 meters away, which is mainly used for remote location of explosive hook.

 

4.Drop shaped fishing sinker: it’s commonly used when fishing for smaller fish. Its weight is generally 10 ~20 grams, and it can be thrown 30 - 40 meters away. It sinks fast, and it is not easy to get tangled up in the bottom of the water.

 

5.Boat shaped fishing sinker: shape like a boat, weighing 10 to 50 grams. It’s a special fishing sinker for mandarin fish, dog fish, black fish, and salmon.

 

6.Olive shaped fishing sinker: shape like a olive,weighing 5 - 20 grams. It sinks fast, and can mobile translocation at the bottom of the water to attract copper fish, rainbow trout, and Spanish mackerel, etc. It’s used for large lower-middle fishes in rivers.

 

At present, tungsten alloy fishing sinker is an ideal choice for fishing enthusiasts. Tungsten alloy has gradually replaced the traditional material - lead that may cause pollution to the environment. Tungsten alloy is favored by the majority of anglers, for its high density, small volume and nontoxicity.
