Wolframite Slime Recycle - Oil Agglomeration Method

Wolframite slime is a difficult issue of tungsten beneficiation due to its fine particle, recycle for fine minerals particle in slime is even more difficult. In recent years, to deal with fine wolframite slime more efficient, there are methods for gathering first and beneficiation second. Oil agglomeration method is a newly developed wolframite slime recycle process.

Oil agglomeration is an efficient method to separate fine tungsten mineral particle. Its principle is adding collecting agent in mineral slurry to dewatering fine particle, then adding neutral oil to let it disperse on the surface of dewatering grain and forms into bridge liquid, thus enforce dewatering property of grain surface. Then dewatering and agglomeration of suspensoid will be intensified, fine grains covered by neutral oil will attach to each other to form oil agglomeration roll. The roll has big grain size and high strength, it can be recycled by flotation method.

In recent years, there has been study for tungsten concentrate oil agglomeration method in China, use neutral oil as agglomeration agent, use Fe3+ to active tungsten concentrate oil agglomeration and deal with wolframite slime with grade 0.04%, obtain tungsten concentrate with WO3 content 14%, recycle rate reached 90%. It shows that oil agglomeration method is an effective measure to recycle fine mineral resource from wolframite slime tailings. It has prosperous developing scope.
