Hydroximic Acid Chelating Collecting Agent for Tungsten Concentrate Beneficiation

During flotation process, collecting agent can change hydrophobicity of tungsten element surface, floating tungsten ore grains will attach to foam. Tungsten concentrate flotation is mainly flotation of tungsten slime.

Oleic acid has good collecting capability but is short of selectivity. So Hydroximic acid chelating collecting agent is also used in tungsten concentrate beneficiation.

Hydroximic acid is organic material, it is carboxylic acid derivatives in carboxylic acid molecular which carboxyl oxygen bivalent is replaced by oximido. It is a mild organic acid. Industrial hydroximic acid is red brown oil liquid. Collecting agent made of hydroximic acid is good in selectivity, collecting ability is not as good as oleic acid. Method is chosen according to actual situation.

Hydroximic acid chelating collecting agent has different types: salicylhydroxamic acid, naphthohydroxamic acid and benzohydroxamic acid. It achieves good industrial effect in recent years. For example, a mine enterprises in Hunan province use naphthohydroxamic acid as collecting agent to recycle tungsten slime. When use naphthohydroxamic acid as collecting agent, lead nitrate as active agent, sodium silicate as inhibitor, sulfide as pH value adjusting agent to process beneficiation, tungsten concentrate with grade 19.91% can be obtained from tungsten slime with WO3 content 1.34%, tungsten recycle rate is 87.175.

In recent years, there are some kinds of new hydroximic acid chelating collecting agent such as CF, COBA, Medialen and so on. Each of them has both merits and demerits. There are no perfect collecting agents yet. Composite agents can be the main application direction.
