Rare earth market update on June 27, 2025
This week, the domestic rare earth market as a whole showed a mixed pattern of ups and downs. Under the interweaving of multiple and bearish factors, the price trends of light and heavy rare earths were slightly different, but both types of products still had significant room for transaction growth.
In the light rare earth market, due to weak downstream demand, stricter environmental policies, and the current low prices of light rare earths, some suppliers have reduced production. Coupled with cost support and positive market expectations for the future, the supply of low-priced goods in the market has tightened. In the heavy rare earth market, the prices of mainstream products showed a trend of first rising and then falling during the week. At the beginning of the week, driven by the high enthusiasm of downstream users for bargain hunting and the price increase of light rare earths, most suppliers raised their quotations. However, near the weekend, due to the slow follow-up of downstream demand, product prices fell again.
According to China Tungsten Online, the price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide this week increased by approximately 5,000 yuan/ton, a year-on-year increase of 1.13%; the price of praseodymium-neodymium metal increased by approximately 6,000 yuan/ton, a year-on-year increase of 1.11%; the price of terbium oxide increased by approximately 10 yuan/kg, a year-on-year increase of 0.14%; the price of dysprosium oxide showed no significant change; the price of 55N neodymium-iron-boron blank increased by approximately 1 yuan/kg, a year-on-year increase of 0.47%; and the price of neodymium-iron-boron waste (praseodymium-neodymium) increased by approximately 5 yuan/kg, a year-on-year increase of 1.04%. It can be seen that the increase in product prices this week was greater than the decrease.
