Rare earth market update on September 23, 2025
The domestic rare earth market overall maintained stable operation, with a somewhat stagnant negotiation atmosphere between buyers and sellers due to weak supply and demand dynamics and gradually declining bullish support, resulting in product prices fluctuating within a reasonable range and limited new orders.
Today, the prices of praseodymium oxide, terbium oxide, and dysprosium oxide are approximately 640,000 yuan per ton, 7,200,000 yuan per ton, and 1,630,000 yuan per ton, respectively. Notably, influenced by relatively high raw material prices and robust growth in emerging industries, prices of rare earth permanent magnet materials and their scrap have seen tentative increases, such as the 52M neodymium-iron-boron blank price rising by approximately 1 yuan per kilogram.
According to Caixin, recently, Galaxy Magnets issued an announcement stating that the company plans to acquire 100% equity of Sichuan Jingdu Longtai Technology Co., Ltd. ("Jingdu Longtai") through a combination of share issuance and cash payment, while also raising funds. Currently, the parties involved have not signed a formal transaction agreement, and there remains significant uncertainty. The company's stock has been suspended from trading since the market opened on September 15 and is expected to disclose the transaction plan within no more than 10 trading days.
