China's Tungsten Products Imports in August 2025

According to data compiled by Chinatungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, in August 2025, China's imports of tungsten products (excluding cemented carbide tools and tungsten halogen lamps) totaled 2,365.07 tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 58.69% compared to August 2024, but a month-on-month decrease of 2.23% compared to July 2025. The import value reached RMB 299 million, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 69.76% and a month-on-month decrease of 7.02%.

In August 2025, China imported:

Tungsten ores & concentrates: 2,184.98 tons, a year-on-year increase of 83.84% and a month-on-month increase of 4.22%.

Tungsten trioxides: 6,548 kg, a year-on-year increase of 24.27% and a month-on-month increase of 3,094.15%.

Tungsten hexafluoride: 36.54 tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.50% and a month-on-month increase of 15.70%.

Sodium tungstate: 132.13 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 37.45% and a month-on-month decrease of 32.72%.

Calcium wolframate: 1 kg, with no recorded imports in August 2024, compared to 78.30 tons in July 2025.

Ammonium metatungstate: 32 kg, with no recorded imports in August 2024 or July 2025.

Tungsten powders: 728 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 18.20% and a month-on-month decrease of 55.74%.

Unwrought tungsten, including bars & rods obtained simply by sintering: 306 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 30.45%, compared to 2 kg in July 2025.

Tungsten wire: 605 kg, a year-on-year increase of 55.93% and a month-on-month increase of 35.04%.

Bars & rods, excluding those obtained simply by sintering; profiles, plates, sheets, strips, and foils: 1,491 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 51.59% but a month-on-month increase of 220.65%.

Additionally, in August 2025, China imported:

Knives and cutting blades, for machines or mechanical appliances, of metal carbides, coated or plated: 60.00 tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.07% and a month-on-month increase of 0.79%.

Other knives and cutting blades, for machines or mechanical appliances, of metal carbides: 38.45 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.39% and a month-on-month decrease of 4.27%.
