China 2013 rare earth export volume increased by 38% compared to last year

China Customs Statistics Information Service Center (China Customs Statistics Information Center, referred to as CCS) said on Wednesday that Chinese exports of rare earth ore in 2013 , 22,493 tons of metals and compounds , exports increased by 38.3 % compared with 2012 , but well below the 31,001 tons in 2013 export quotas.

Chinese rare earth production share of global production of about 80%. Rare earths are collectively referred to a series of important technologies can be applied to smart phones and missile systems and other metals.

Rare earth demand and prices remain depressed . CCS said that despite the increase in exports , but China 's rare earth exports in 2013 decreased by 37 % compared to 2012 , to $ 575.4 million .

CCS , said China 's rare earth export volume in December was 2,592 tons, down 20%, but an increase of 12.6% compared with November .
