I. Analysis of China’s Rare Earth Price Trends in March 2025
According to China Tungsten Online, the price trends of light and heavy rare earth products in China during March 2025 showed distinct patterns.
Prices of light rare earth products, such as praseodymium and neodymium, remained relatively stable with mild fluctuations, while heavy rare earth products, such as dysprosium and terbium, experienced more significant volatility. For light rare earths, factors such as a balanced supply-demand relationship, relatively high praseodymium-neodymium prices at the time, and the absence of major market-moving news led suppliers to maintain steady quotations throughout the month. In contrast, heavy rare earths, particularly terbium, saw larger price swings due to constrained imports of Myanmar ore, an earthquake in Myanmar toward the end of the month, and robust growth in the humanoid robotics industry, which bolstered demand.
II. Average Prices of Rare Earth Products in March 2025
In March 2025, most rare earth product prices in China increased both month-on-month and year-on-year, with some exceptions among heavy rare earths. The average prices for the month were as follows:
