In April 2025, China's molybdenum product exports totaled 3,975.61 tons, increased by 31.48% month-on-month and increased by 0.81% year-on-year. Among these, exports of ferromolybdenum were 853.40 tons, decreased by 10.63% year-on-year; exports of molybdenum wire were 30.90 tons, increased by 34.64% year-on-year; exports of ammonium molybdate were 36.61 tons, decreased by 26.55% year-on-year; exports of molybdenum waste and scrap were 187.96 tons, decreased by 19.65% year-on-year; and exports of other molybdenum products were 18.26 tons, decreased by 5.09% year-on-year.

In April 2025, China's molybdenum product imports totaled 8,345.85 tons, increased by 10.49% month-on-month and increased by 37.87% year-on-year. Among these, imports of molybdenum powder were 30.00 kg, decreased by 86.36% year-on-year; imports of molybdenum wire were 4.07 tons, increased by 110.43% year-on-year; imports of ferromolybdenum were 705.20 tons, increased by 2.85% year-on-year; imports of ammonium molybdate were 166.00 tons, increased by 60.53% year-on-year; and imports of other molybdenum products were 3.80 tons, increased by 95.07% year-on-year.

In April 2025, China's tungsten product exports totaled 1,383.17 tons, decreased by 25.81% year-on-year but increased by 68.33% month-on-month. Among these, exports of tungsten powder were 52.90 tons, decreased by 61.35% year-on-year; exports of ferrotungsten were 360.30 tons, increased by 69.67% year-on-year; exports of tungsten wire were 39.87 tons, increased by 39.87% year-on-year; exports of tungsten carbide were 8 tons, decreased by 97.78% year-on-year; and exports of ammonium metatungstate were 390.82 tons, increased by 165.49% year-on-year. 

In April 2025, China's tungsten product imports totaled 1,101.72 tons, decreased by 0.43% year-on-year and decreased by 0.68% month-on-month. Among these, imports of tungsten powder were 1,391 kg, decreased by 50.97% year-on-year; imports of tungsten wire were 477 kg, increased by 31.77% year-on-year; imports of tungsten carbide were 14.57 tons, increased by 33.48% year-on-year; imports of sodium tungstate were 144.32 tons, decreased by 37.96% year-on-year; and imports of tungsten trioxide were 20 kg, decreased by 44.44% year-on-year.

In May 2025, China’s molybdenum price trend was initially stable before experiencing a significant surge. In terms of average prices, molybdenum concentrate averaged 3,583 yuan/ton-degree, increased by 6.83% month-on-month; ferromolybdenum averaged 233,737 yuan/ton, increased by 7.38% month-on-month; molybdenum oxide averaged 3,667 yuan/ton-degree, increased by 5.83% month-on-month; ammonium heptamolybdate averaged 226,947 yuan/ton, increased by 4.15% month-on-month; and molybdenum powder averaged 425 yuan/kg, increased by 5.20% month-on-month.
