How to Recover Gold Plating

Gold plating is generally found on circuit boards and fingers inside of computers. There are many ways to recover gold plating but one of the quickest and relatively safest ways is to soak your gold plated item in CBX circuit board stripping powder solution.

1.Put on protective eye goggles and waterproof gloves.

2.Pour out the contents of one jar of CBX circuit board stripping powder into a ceramic bowl or container. You can purchase the powder from shorinternational.com.

3.Add 1 gallon of water to the container and mix with a wood spoon.

4.Add your gold-plated material to the bowl and allow to soak for 6 to 8 hours.

5.Remove the gold-plated material from the solution and set aside. Make sure you are wearing waterproof gloves when you do this.

6.Set a coffee filter into another ceramic bowl or container and pour the liquid into the coffee filter. Lift up the filter as the bowl starts to fill up with liquid. The gold can be found in the filter.
