They found that electrochromic devices assembled from tungsten oxide/molybdenum oxide composite electrochromic thin films have a much larger light modulation range than devices assembled from tungsten oxide electrochromic thin films. This is because the electron transport efficiency of the material is improved, and the disorder of the crystal structure is increased after the tungsten oxide film is doped with molybdenum, so the grain size of WO3 is reduced, and therefore its electrochromic property is improved.
