Yellow tungsten oxide, or tungsten trioxide, may be used to produce a WO3-TiO2 electrochromic film, which may be applied in preparation of a smart glass for using in building. Wherein, some experts prepared TiO2 doped WO3 electrochromic thin film by sol-gel method, and carried out related performance tests by electrochemical cyclic voltammetry device, spectrophotometer and X-Ray diffraction.

Experts have found that WO3-TiO2 heat treated at 200°C is amorphous. Doping a certain amount of TiO2 is beneficial to the stability of the sol, thereby improving the stability and cycle life of the composite electrochromic film. While when the TiO2 content exceeds 15%, the film transmittance is improved, but the electrochromic performance of film is lowered. That is to say, doping a certain amount of TiO2 can effectively stabilize the tungsten oxide sol, improve the cycle life of the film, but reduce the discoloration performance of the film.
