Tungsten oxide, mainly referred to as WO3-x, is a near infrared absorption material. Experts say that tungsten oxide nanopowder does not have the absorption of near-infrared light, so it needs to be reduced to WO3–x. So, how to reduce the tungsten oxide nano powder into WO3–x?

Taking nano particle size tungsten oxide as the original material, sintering in a reducing atmosphere of 350°C and 550°C [volume ratio V (H2): V (N2) = 1:9] for 1h, then stop inputting H2. Under the protection of N2, the temperature was raised to 800°C, and the powder was heated at this temperature for 1h. Then, turned off the powder and the temperature was lowered to room temperature to obtain WO2.92 and WO2.83. Analytical grade polyvinyl alcohol was added to deionized water to form a solution. WO3–x was mixed with the solution at a mass ratio of 1:9, and milled in a ball mill for 2h to obtain a transparent colloidal liquid. And then spectral testing was performed in a quartz cuvette with a thickness of 1mm.
