Molybdenum Powder Prices - June 14, 2024

Chinese molybdenum market was calm this week, mainly due to the general downstream demand, low willingness of suppliers to make price concessions, and no major positive or negative news released in the market. 

As of June 14, 2024, the prices of molybdenum concentrate, ferromolybdenum and molybdenum powder were around 3,890 yuan/ton, 2,000 yuan/ton and 3,980 yuan/ton, respectively. 

According to statistics from CTIA GROUP LTD, the current price of ferromolybdenum has increased by about 1,000 yuan/ton compared with last week, an increase of 0.40%; the price of molybdenum concentrate has increased by about 10 yuan/ton compared with last week, an increase of 0.26%; the price of molybdenum oxide has increased by about 10 yuan/ton compared with last week, an increase of 0.25%; the prices of sodium molybdate, ammonium heptamolybdate and molybdenum powder have remained the same as last week.

News: Price monitoring data of Jiangxi Steel Market and Fuzhou Trade Plaza Steel Market showed that in May 2024, the sales prices of 44 steel varieties monitored in Jiangxi Province rose by 13, fell by 20, and remained unchanged by 11. The average sales prices of wire rod (high wire 6.5, HPB300 and high wire 8, HPB300) were 3833.75 yuan/ton and 3858.75 yuan/ton, respectively, up 0.92% and 2.93% month-on-month, and down 7.11% and 7.11% year-on-year, respectively. The average sales price of rebar (φ12mm HRB400E) was 3672.50 yuan/ton, up 2.62% month-on-month and down 6.17% year-on-year.
