Gadolinium Oxide Prices - April 3, 2024

Prices of mainstream light and heavy rare earth products in China have generally increased. Specifically, praseodymium oxide has increased by approximately 7,000 yuan per ton, praseodymium-neodymium metal by approximately 8,000 yuan per ton, gadolinium oxide by approximately 2,000 yuan per ton, terbium oxide by approximately 100 yuan per kilogram, and dysprosium oxide by approximately 10,000 yuan per ton.

This is mainly attributed to the following factors: The listing price of rare earths in northern China remained stable this month, which significantly boosted the confidence of suppliers to raise prices. The slowdown in the decline of rare earth prices in recent times has led to an increase in inquiries from downstream users. With the previous low product selling prices, rare earth suppliers are not in a hurry to ship goods. Additionally, China's rare earth raw material imports are limited. It is worth mentioning that China's rare earth metal ore imports decreased by 41% year-on-year in January and February this year.

In terms of news: According to data from the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry, from January to February 2024, China completed shipbuilding of 8.26 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year increase of 95.4%; and newly contracted ship orders amounted to 15.2 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year increase of 64.4%. During the same period, China's shipbuilding completion volume, new order volume, and order backlog volume accounted for 56.5%, 69.5%, and 56.1% of the world market share, respectively.
