Tight Raw Materials Supply Pushes APT Price to Near Two-year Highs

Tight supply of tungsten concentrates and tungsten scrap in China has pushed intermediate prices to nearly two-year highs in February amid a pick-up in end-user demand. 

There is nothing available in Europe, and China is not able to ship till April. At present, Chinese suppliers don’t have any material available, yet with most miners not back fully from the Chinse New Year holidays. There is still a deficit in concentrates production.

With the support from supply shortage, offers for tungsten concentrate price stand at around $15,238.1 per tone and miners have strong rised mentality. APT price stabilizes at $260.1 per mtu on March 2, 2021 and manufacturers basically maintain cautious sentiment. The tungsten powder price hovers about $35.2 per kilogram with limited transactions concluded.
