China’s Xianglu Tungsten Raised Offers for the First Half of January, 2021

The ferro tungsten and ammonium metatungstate (APT) prices in China are in the upward trend benefiting from tight supply of raw materials, high production cost and the rise in new offers from listed tungsten companies. 

China’s Xianglu Tungsten released its offers for the first half of January, 2021: 55% black tungsten concentrate price was $13,968.3 per tone, up $238.1 per tone from the second half of December; 55% scheelite concentrate price was $13,809.5 per tone, up $238.1 per tone; APT price was $242.1 per mtu, up $6.5 per mtu from late December.

Some mining enterprises gradually stop production to undergo repair, plus with a second wave of Covid-19 in some reigns affecting the production, tungsten concentrate market keeps strong. In the APT market, smelting factories remain low operating rate, waiting for the situation of capital and risk of price inversion. For the tungsten powder market, price increases slightly affected by the rise in raw material side. some offers even rise to $33.3 per kilogram but with rare transactions concluded.
