China’s APT Export Market Remained Quiet in Late September

Analysis of latest tungsten market from Chinatungsten Online

The ammonium paratungstate (APT) export market in China remained quiet this week, with European consumers becoming increasingly cautious about restocking the raw material amid an uptick in Covid-19 infections across the region, while demand from Japanese buyers was also largely muted.

Market sources expressed that they had received very few inquiries from overseas buyers over the past week and only had limited sales for downstream products, like tungsten powder and carbide powder.

European consumers would like to get some information about the current market situation, but they are very hesitant to place orders as they are not confident about their own operations, given that the coronavirus seems to be worsening in Europe again.

In the short term, the market is expected to keep stable and market participants will keep cautious operations with the approaching of Mid-autumn Festival and National Day holiday.
