China Cerium Oxide Price - September 15, 2020

Rare earth market quotation in China: dysprosium oxide price declines slightly while neodymium oxide and cerium oxide prices remain unchanged under deadlocked supply and demand, and mixed international markets.

In the light rare earth market, the fundamentals are relatively fragile. Under the general conditions of market development such as new energy vehicles, new and old infrastructure, and 5G, it is difficult for downstream magnetic materials companies to pick up demand, and the purchasing sentiment is generally low, resulting in partial supply. The confidence of cargo merchants to hold prices has declined, but they generally maintain rational price adjustments. At present, transaction prices are mostly at relatively low levels.

The medium and heavy rare earth market has prices but no sales. From the perspective of negative factors, the continuous fermentation of overseas epidemics and the instability of geopolitics in various countries are the reasons that hinder the smooth circulation of rare earth export markets. In addition, the domestic policy is calming, and it is difficult for downstream rare earth separation plants to purchase in large quantities. There are fewer new domestic orders; from the perspective of positive factors, raw material costs are the biggest source of confidence for suppliers. Although the state reserve signal is still there and Myanmar's imports are still limited, these positive factors have basically been exhausted.
