Affected by Chinese environmental inspection, the supply of raw materials reduces and downstream factories’ operating rate is low. The demand for raw materials is weak. Buyers and sellers now have different expectations for price trend. 

The latest prices of molybdenum powder, molybdenum oxide and molybdenum bar are unchanged from the previous trading day. Although factories’ operating rate increases, spot goods in the molybdenum raw material market remain tight. Enterprises have relatively good mentality in Chinese market.

Although manufacturers have strong rised mentality, market trading is thin without supports of the demand side. The latest prices of sodium molybdate and ammonium heptamolvbdate rose slightly earlier in this week while molybdenum bar price edged lower in Chinese market. The production in mines increases, but the demand remains weak. The deadlocked supply and demand make businesses more cautious on trading. Moreover, steel tenders for ferromolybdenum becomes quiet. Market participants tend to wait and see.
