Rare Earth Prices - July 11, 2025

Rare earth market update on July 11, 2025

This week, domestic rare earth prices exhibited an overall oscillating upward trend, driven by increased inquiry and procurement activity from magnetic material enterprises, limited growth in spot supply, strong support from production costs, and the continued strategic importance of rare earths at the national level.

Additionally, the rise in Northern Rare Earth’s third-quarter rare earth concentrate transaction prices has further boosted market sentiment. However, due to limited follow-through from downstream demand, traders are advised to exercise caution in their operations.

According to CTIA GROUP LTD, this week’s price changes include: praseodymium-neodymium oxide prices increased by approximately 8,000 yuan/ton (a 1.79% rise), praseodymium-neodymium metal prices increased by about 12,000 yuan/ton (a 2.20% rise), terbium oxide prices increased by around 80 yuan/kg (a 1.12% rise), dysprosium oxide prices increased by approximately 50,000 yuan/ton (a 3.07% rise), 55N neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) blanks increased by about 3 yuan/kg (a 1.41% rise), and NdFeB scrap (praseodymium-neodymium) prices increased by around 11 yuan/kg (a 2.25% rise). This indicates that the rise in raw material prices has also lifted prices for NdFeB blanks and scrap.

In terms of news, on July 11, Northern Rare Earth announced that, based on the rare earth concentrate pricing method and second-quarter 2025 rare earth oxide prices, the third-quarter 2025 rare earth concentrate transaction price has been adjusted to 19,109 yuan/ton (dry basis, REO=50%), increased by 284 yuan/ton from the first quarter’s 18,825 yuan/ton (a 1.51% rise). For every 1% increase or decrease in REO, the tax-exclusive price will increase or decrease by 382.18 yuan/ton, up from 376.50 yuan/ton in the second quarter (an increase of 6 yuan/ton, or a 1.51% rise).
