Rare earth market quotation in China: DyFe, dysprosium oxide and praseodymium neodymium metal prices decline slightly on Sep. 3, 2020. Under the background of quiet news from the policy side and general development in the global manufacturing industry, it is difficult for downstream users to substantially increase the demand, which is the main reason for the rise of quotation in the market.

In the light rare earth market, the overall trading activity is relatively low. Affected by the chaotic economic order in overseas markets and the insufficient stocking capacity of magnetic materials companies, some traders choose to cut profits for more shipments, resulting in a slight decline in mainstream product prices. In the heavy rare earth market, the fundamentals are relatively stable. The downstream rare earth separation plants basically maintain just-need purchases and reasonably control their inventories. While upstream merchants are generally more proactive in shipments, but supported by production costs, there is little room for price cuts.

From January to July, there are 19 rare earth enterprises above designated size in Baotou City, with an operating rate of 100%, and a cumulative industrial added value of 1.28 billion yuan, an increase of 21.2% year-on-year. As of the end of July, the single rare earth metal output was 365,186.0 kg, a year-on-year increase of 40.2%. From the perspective of exports, the export delivery value of the rare earth industry was 37 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%. From January to July, the rare earth industry achieved a revenue of 700 million yuan from its main business, a year-on-year increase of 61.5%; a total profit of 620 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%.
