The experts found that: Compared with the conventional dense tungsten trioxide film, the tungsten trioxide film of nanoporous structure has a greatly improved electrochromic effect and a faster response speed. Also, the loss due to crystallization during ion injection process is reduced. But why tungsten trioxide film of nanoporous structure has better performance than conventional dense tungsten trioxide film? This is because the nanoporous tungsten trioxide film exhibits better reversibility during electrochemical cycling than the conventional dense WO3 film, and the ion injection space is greatly improved.
