First, the FTO conductive glass needs to be pretreated by cleaning and surface treatment. Next, a transparent sol was prepared: 9.18 g of ammonium metatungstate was dissolved in 300 mL of deionized water, and stirred at 70 °C until completely dissolved to obtain an aqueous solution of ammonium metatungstate hydrate with a concentration of 0.01 mol/L; and 91.8 g of polyethylene glycol PEG-400 was added, stirred at 70 °C for 45 min to obtain a clear transparent sol. Finally, a Mo-doped tungsten oxide electrochromic film was prepared: 1.18 g of ammonium molybdate was added to the obtained 100 mL of transparent sol, stirred at 80 °C until clarification to obtain a precursor solution; and 100 mL of the precursor solution was sprayed under laboratory conditions. A Mo doped WO3 electrochromic thin film was obtained on a 5 x 2.5 cm2 FTO conductive glass and then thermally decomposed in situ at 300 °C for 30 min.
