Response time is the time between conversions between two color states. More specifically, the response time refers to the time required for the electrochromic device to switch from a colored state to a bleached state, and vice versa. So, what depends on the response time of the electrochromic device? The response time of an electrochromic device depends primarily on the conductivity of the electrolyte used, the rate of ion diffusion in the film, the magnitude of the applied voltage, the film thickness, and the morphology of the film.
