Yellow Tungsten Oxide Applied for Large Area Smart Glass

Yellow tungsten oxide can be used to prepare a large area smart glass that can adjust the transmittance of visible light (350-850nm) and near-infrared light (850-2500nm), wherein the adjustment range can reach more than 50%. For large-area electrochromic glass, a research team adopted electrochemical methods to deposit tungsten trioxide and Prussian blue on glass, and then used organic polymer (PVB, etc.) as a solid electrolyte and an adhesive layer, first made into a laminated glass, and then made into a hollow glass, filled with argon. The visible light transmittance of this product is between 65% and 7%, and the solar heat gain coefficient is adjustable between 0.46 and 0.11. Moreover, they have established the first fully automatic large-area electrochromic glass production line in Europe in 2010, which can produce glass with an area of up to 1.0m×2.4m.
