WO3 Applied for Electrochromic Glass

WO3 can be made into an electrochromic film, and then be used to produce an electrochromic glass, and finally be applied for building doors and windows to provide high thermal insulation without affecting the passage of visible light. Electrochromic glass assembly assembled by WO3 electrochromic film prepared by propylene carbonate doped, polyethylene glycol doped and undoped, with 2.0V DC voltage, can achieve complete coloring-bleaching reversible cycle.

The visible light transmittance of the propylene carbonate doped WO3 electrochromic film changes greatly in the coloring and bleaching state. The film has a uniform texture, and the assembled electrochromic glass has a short coloring-bleaching response time and a large color changeable range. It has superior performance over a polyethylene glycol doped WO3 electrochromic film or an undoped WO3 electrochromic film. However, the cycle life of propylene carbonate doped WO3 film is short, and as the number of cycles increases, lithium ions are deposited in the film, resulting in a decrease in the discoloration effect of the film.
