Some experts used an ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer to measure the optical contrast of a Li-doping tungsten trioxide electrochromic film before and after discoloration.
Specifically, dissolve the dried lithium perchlorate in propylene carbonate to prepare a 1mol/L electrolyte solution. Place the substrate in the cathode and then put it in an electrolyte. A voltage of 3V is applied thereto for discoloration. Then, the reverse pressure causes its fading to be tested again, as shown in the figure of optical density graph of Li-doping tungsten trioxide electrochromic film below:

As can be seen from the upper left picture, the fading states of the seven test samples have little difference in light absorption between the visible and near-infrared regions, and the amount of lithium ion doping only causes a difference in the ultraviolet range. The upper right picture is the colored state, and it can be seen that the seven samples show significant differences in the three light intervals. The A-line film sample showed excellent light absorption performance in the near-infrared region, and the E-line film sample exhibited good performance throughout the visible light region, and the difference in light adjustment before and after discoloration reached 53%. However, after repeated cycles, it is found that the fading state of the film after lithium perchlorate doping becomes a transparent yellowish brown color. This may be due to the increased density of the film after lithium perchlorate doping. After multiple cycles, Li+ is injected into it and remains, resulting in the formation of LiWO3.
