MoO3 doped tungsten trioxide thin film can be prepared by electron beam evaporation method. Among them, some experts used electron beam evaporation method to prepare tungsten trioxide electrochromic films with different MoO3 doping amount. They found that the obtained the electrochromic films of doped tungsten trioxide have better electrochromic properties.

In addition, experts also said that from the experimental results, the electrochromic properties of tungsten trioxide and molybdenum oxide are the result of electrochemical reactions. They said that the pure tungsten trioxide film is blue in color, while the tungsten trioxide film with more MoO3 is colored in gray. By doping different proportions of MoO3, the color of the tungsten trioxide film can be changed. The doping has improved spectral absorption characteristics of tungsten trioxide, which is more in line with the sensitive area of the human eye. In other words, doping provides a broader application prospect for electrochromic devices.
