MoO3 Doped Tungsten Oxide Electrochromic Film

MoO3 doped tungsten oxide electrochromic film can be prepared by an electron beam evaporation method in an ultra-high vacuum electron beam coating machine. Specifically, the steps are as follows:

The evaporation source was an analytically pure tungsten oxide powder doped with analytical grade MoO3 powder, and pressed into a small cylinder with a diameter of 8mm. The substrate was made of glass with an ITO conductive film deposited to a square resistance of about 60Ω. The degree of vacuum before evaporation was better than 3x10-3Pa, the substrate temperature during evaporation was about 50°C, and the evaporation rate was about 2.5nm/min. The obtained pellets were evaporated and subjected to air annealing at 350°C for 1h in a box type electric furnace.

In addition, the experts also studied the effect of MoO3 doping on the electrochromic properties of tungsten oxide films through color change experiments. The discoloration experiment was carried out in a two-electrode constant voltage electrochemical cell with an electrolyte solution of 0.05M H2SO4 solution and a 0.3mm thick molybdenum plate for the counter electrode. The transmission spectrum of the doped tungsten oxide film was measured by a 722 type grating spectrophotometer. The film thickness was measured with a TP-3 type ellipsometer, and the film thickness was measured to be about 250nm.
