Rare earth market quotation in China: domestic rare earth price

Rare earth prices were still in the upward trend in the week ended on Friday May 31, especially for praseodymium oxide, neodymium oxide and praseodymium neodymium oxide. The market kept rational mentality at the beginning of the week. However, after the NDRC responded to the relationship between rare earths and trade frictions, the industry’s enthusiasm for the rare earth sector broke out again. Insiders believed that the China-Myanmar rare earth trade policy, global trade disputes and other factors would activate the market, so domestic product prices kept climbing. 

However, behind the "crazy", rare earth market participants still need to maintain rationality. After all, regardless of the role of macro factors, fundamentals of relationship between supply and demand of light rare earth products are not positive. Moreover, showing the "trump card" of rare earths may cause tight supply in the international market in the short term, and may also lead to a decline in the share of domestic rare earths in the international market in the long run.
