According to the plasticizing form of materials, injection molding machine is divided into two types: plunger type injection machine and reciprocating screw type injection machine. The screw type injection machine is in the majority.

 

The plunger injection system mainly consists of feeding device, barrel, plunger, split shuttle, nozzle and mould.

 

Reciprocating screw type injection machine is mainly composed of injection cylinder, hydraulic motor, feeding device, cylinder, screw, nozzle and mold parts.

 

According to the configuration characteristics of the injection machine, there are four common forms.

 

1, Vertical Injection Molding Machine

The injection device and clamping device of this injection machine are perpendicular to the ground. Compared with horizontal injection machines, it has the following advantages:

(1) Small footprints and convenient disassembly and assembly of moulds.

(2) Because the surface of the die faces upwards, the insert is easy to locate and form.

(3) It is easy to ensure the fluidity of the melt in the mold.

 

Disadvantages: high hopper, inconvenient feeding.

 

2, Horizontal Injection Machine (shown in the screenshot below)

The injection device and clamping device of the injection machine are horizontally placed.

Advantage：

Low body, convenient feeding, convenient operation and maintenance, and easy realization of automatic mold unloading.

 

Disadvantages: 

The machine occupies a large area, and the disassembly of the mold is more troublesome.

 

3, Angle Injection Machine

The injection device is aligned vertically with the die assembly, but with an angle from the ground. Between vertical and horizontal, it is suitable for products that cannot be equipped with sprues.

 

4, Turntable Type Injection Machine (multimode injection machine)

A plurality of moulds is installed on the rotating turntable which can be rotated around regular intervals to complete injection molding. Features: it has high production efficiency and can produce in large quantities.
