Tungsten Scheelite pH Value Regulator

Tungsten scheelite flotation is difficult in separation of scheelite and gangue minerals. Calcium ion affects selectivity of collector. To improve selectivity, pH value regulator shall be added to create better flotation environment for scheelite flotation.
The main pH regulator has two types, sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide. They are used to adjust pH value of scheelite slurry within 8~10 to benefit separation of scheelite and gauge minerals. Sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide are replaceable. Every factory can choose proper one according to practical situation.
Generally speaking, if tungsten scheelite belongs to calcite and fluorite, sodium carbonate is a better choice. These deposit associates with soluble or slightly soluble minerals, can be effectively separated by calcium containing gangue. If existed deposit is quartz vein deposit, sodium hydroxide is a better choice. Sodium hydroxide can adjust pH higher and is benefit for separation of scheelite.
In recent years, we also developed a method combining lime and sodium carbonate to adjust pH value, it originates from lime temperature flotation in America in 1970s, but was spread in China lately these years. It firstly use a certain amount of lime to stir mineral slurry and adjust pH value, then add sodium carbonate and sodium silicate to inhibit vein minerals selectively. It is targeted and has good efficiency.
