What is Steel Tip Darts?

Steel tip darts is the most traditional darts in darts sport, and the greatest difference between steel tip darts and soft darts is that the tip or point of steel tip darts is usually made of steel, which can be divided into movable dart tip and immovable dart tip. The dartboards that steel tip darts used are usually wooden dartboard, linen or paper dartboard; among them, linen dartboard is the most popular.
Classification:
According to the different manufacturing materials, steel tip darts can be divided into steel tip tungsten alloy darts or tungsten steel tip darts, steel tip copper darts, steel tip tungsten copper darts, etc., in normal, most professional competitions are using steel tip tungsten darts.
Steel Tip Darts Competition Rules:
In accordance with the "China Darts Competition Rules" steel tip darts competition rules are as follows:
Competitions:
1. Knockout
2. Round Robin
Project:
1. Team (each for groups of less than 3)
2. Men's Singles Competition
3. Men's Doubles
4. Women's Singles Competition
5. Women's Doubles
6. Youth Groups (the age is limited less than 20)
Competition Type:
501 point type is only used in Steel tip darts competition and the players are required to double out.
Darts Use:
The darts for steel tip darts competition must have the basic structure, namely the dart tip or point, dart barrel, dart shaft and dart flight. Its size must be less than 30 cm; the total weight must not exceed 40g.
Dartboard Use:
Dartboard must conform to international standards of 20 aliquots Joan linen dartboard. And should be hung vertically from the ground height of 1.73 meters (the vertical distance from dart bull ‘eye and the ground), darts casting distance should be 2.37 meters (the vertical distance of the casting line to the dartboard bull’s eye).
Other Rules:
1. Darts casting area must be wooden floor and covered with carpet, rubber etc.
2. Smoking and drinking are forbidden during the race.
3. The scoreboard should be parallel with the dartboard, and should be hung in front of the left darts casting area or on both sides of 0.5 to 1 meter of dartboard.
4. Should the darts be damaged during competition, the player can change or fix his darts accompanied by the referee at the end of this round, before the start of the next round, the allowed longest time is 2 minutes.
