WO3 nanopowder is an n-type semiconductor with wide extending applications. For example, nano WO3 is widely applied to produce functional ceramic. And the prepared functional ceramics show good nonlinear electrical properties characterized by low voltage and small current. Some experts have used nano WO3 and CeO2 powders to prepare CeO2 doped WO3 ceramics to study the effect of initial powder nanometerization on ceramic properties.

The results showed that the functional ceramics prepared from nano-WO3 powders have lower varistor voltage and higher dielectric constant. Also, the samples show abnormal temperature characteristics - the nonlinear coefficient does not decrease with increasing temperature; the sample conductivity decreases with increasing temperature, showing a certain metal behavior. In this regard, experts believe that during the sintering process of the sample, some nanoparticles are deposited at the grain boundary. These nanoparticles change the nature of the grain boundary, causing abnormal temperature characteristics of the sample.
