Tungsten Alloy Blank

Tungsten alloy blank refers to tungsten alloy semi-finished products of various shapes. The tungsten alloy blank is further processed to prepare various tungsten alloy products. The main categories include: tungsten alloy billet, tungsten alloy bar, bar, cube, brick, block and tungsten alloy plate, etc. The common tungsten alloy blanks are mainly castings, forgings, profiles, welding parts and so on.

Castings: For billets with complex shapes, they can generally be manufactured by casting method. Most castings are cast in sand mold with fine size.

Small castings with high degree requirements can be made by special casting, such as permanent casting, precision casting, pressure casting, investment casting and centrifugal casting.

Forging: The continuous and uniform metallic fibre structure of the forging blank can be obtained by forging. It is often used for important properties with complex forces.

Spare parts. The precision and productivity of free forgings are low, and they are mainly used in small batches and large forgings. Model forgings have high dimensional accuracy and productivity, and are mainly used for medium and small forgings with large output.

Profiles: Profiles mainly include plates, bars, wires and so on. Commonly used cross-section shapes are round, square, hexagonal and special cross-section shapes. Its manufacturing methods can be divided into hot rolling and cold drawing. Hot rolled profiles are used for general mechanical parts because of their large size and low precision. Cold drawn profile is small in size, high precision, mainly used for rough high precision small parts.

Welding parts: Welding parts: Welding parts are mainly used for single small batch production and large parts and prototype trial production. Its advantages are simple manufacture, short production cycle, material saving and weight reduction. However, it has poor vibration resistance and large deformation, and can only be machined after aging treatment.

Tungsten alloy blanks can be used in counterweights, such as yachts, sailboats and other products requiring heavy quality. They can also be used in counterweights of small submarines and other vessels, aircraft, helicopter ballasts, racing cars and other vehicles, radiation masks and some medical devices.
