New Preparation Technology of Tungsten Carbide Ceramic Cemented Carbide

With the application of cemented carbides becoming more and more extensive, and the performance requirements tend to be a combination of high strength, high hardness and high temperature resistance. Some enterprises have adopted a new preparation process to prepare tungsten carbide ceramic cemented carbide. The process is as follows:

Step 1: take tungsten carbide, tungsten, nickel and cobalt powder and mix them evenly in alcohol medium. According to the mass ratio, 2% nickel, 1% tungsten, 10% cobalt and residual tungsten carbide are obtained.

Step 2: put the mixture into the wet mill for ball milling, add anhydrous alcohol, the ball milling time is 24 hours exhaust once, wet grinding time is 24 hours, the mixture over 400 mesh sieve;

Step 3: after ball milling, mix the mixture into slurry in double helix mixer, then dry it, extract alcohol, recycle it through alcohol recycling vessel, and sieve the dried slurry through vibrating screen.

Step 4: add the mixture and paraffin shaping agent into the mixer. The ratio of the paraffin shaping agent to the mixture is 62 g/kg. After 3 hours of dry and wet leveling, the initial shaping can be achieved, and the material can be discharged.

Step 5: put the preliminary products into the die and put them in the extruder for extrusion. The pressure is 100 - 300 Mpa, and then air-dry for 72 hours.

Step 6: the air-dried products are loaded into the vacuum sintering furnace. The sintering temperature is 1300 - 1600 ℃, and the heat preservation is 60 minutes. After cooling, tungsten steel ceramic cemented carbide can be obtained.

With the above scheme, the preparation method is simple and reliable, and the manufacturing cost is low. The prepared tungsten carbide ceramic cemented carbide material has the characteristics of high strength, high hardness and high temperature resistance.
