Copper / Bismuth Tungstate Composite Photocatalyst

Bismuth tungstate (Bi2WO6) is the most simple structure of Aurivillius type oxide. Its Bi6s orbit and O2p orbit are hybridized to form the valence band. The W5d orbit forms a guide band, and its band gap is narrower (about 2.7eV). It can absorb some visible light and be excited. Therefore, the Bi2WO6 photocatalytic material is in the field of environmental purification and new energy development. Potential application value.

The visible light response range of Bi2WO6 is relatively narrow, and the photo generated electrons and holes are easy to compounded, the life is short, and the visible light utilization and photocatalytic activity are not high. In view of the defects of Bi2WO6 photocatalytic material, it is modified, and the key to practical application is to develop new materials with high visible photocatalytic activity and stable performance.

The copper / bismuth tungstate composite photocatalyst has the following synthetic steps as follows:

(1) After dissolving Bi(NO3)3•5H2O in HNO3 solution, adding (NH4)10W12O41•5H2O water solution and stirring for 2h, then turning it into a stainless steel reactor and sealing it in an electrothermal constant temperature dryness box at 140-200°C and reacting for 2-12h, after the reaction is finished, it is naturally cooled to room temperature, centrifuge separation, washing, and vacuum drying at 60-100°C for 1-3h. Bi2WO6 powder was obtained.

(2) The obtained bismuth tungstate powder is dispersed in deionized water and then dripped with CuSO4 water solution. After magnetic force is stirred for 30min, the ascorbic acid solution is added to the mixture by drop by drop and stirring 20 ~ 40min, and the obtained suspension is moved to the stainless steel reaction kettle, sealing the kettle and reacting to the room temperature at 180-200°C, and then cooling to the room temperature naturally. Centrifugation, washing and vacuum drying for 6-12h at 60-100°C were used to prepare Copper/ tungstate bismuth composite photocatalyst. This photocatalyst can be used to treat methyl orange wastewater.

The composite photocatalyst of copper / bismuth tungstate synthesized through the above method has no agglomeration, large specific surface area, wide visible light response range, higher catalytic activity than bismuth tungstate, good duplication performance, a small amount of samples in methyl orange solution, degrading under visible light provided by 300W xenon lamp, photocatalyst at 120 points. The methyl orange was degraded in the clock, and the degradation rate was 81.5%.
