China Tungsten Resource Development Features

As a country with the most tungsten resources, China has different characteristics of reserves, distribution and development of tungsten resources. China's tungsten resources development has three important characteristics.

First, in addition to tungsten, tungsten ore reserves in China also have a variety of valuable metal components, which can be exploited to a very high value. According to statistics, China's tungsten ore has reached more than 60 kinds of valuable metal composition. Among them, 22 kinds of ingredients can be developed and utilized.

Second, there are many types of tungsten deposits in China's reserves of tungsten resources and the types of deposits are complete. Among them, 9 types of tungsten ore, such as quartz vein type tungsten ore and skarn type tungsten ore, are distributed in China.

Thirdly, tungsten ore reserves in China are rich in taste minerals, with 80% being low-grade tungsten ore containing less than 1% tungsten trioxide. Among these low-grade minerals are mostly sheltie。

Because of the existence of wolframite high taste, easy mining and smelting and other advantages, so China has long been the mining of smelting wolframite. 80% of the current tungsten concentrates are produced from wolframite, resulting in the rapid depletion of high-grade wolframite reserves, so tungsten ore reserves will be dominated by low-grade sheltie in the future. Compared with sheltie used for smelting more than 75% of tungsten concentrates abroad, the pattern of tungsten resources in China will face a very unfavorable situation.
