Steel bond hard alloy is a new material developed on the basis of cemented carbide, which uses carbide and nitride as hard phase and steel as bonding phase. Carbide phase endows tungsten carbide with good wear resistance and heat resistance.
The steel bonded phase provides hard alloys with heat treatment, machinability, forgability and weldability. As a result, it is widely used in various industrial sectors, such as molds, cutting tools and so on.
1, Mould Material
Steel based cemented carbide has excellent properties between the steel and tungsten carbide. In addition, it can be machined, forged and heat-treated, so it is favored by the die industry. The strength and toughness of steel bond hard alloy are generally higher than those of other hard alloys.
It keeps all the advantages of titanium carbide, such as low friction coefficient and high adhesion wear resistance in dry friction. According to the different mold, it can be divided into the following several kinds.
1.1, Cold mold
1.2, Hot-Working die
1.3, Rolling shear and drawing die
1.4, Refractories Molding die
2, Cutting-Tool
The wear resistance and heat resistance of steel bonded cemented carbide are lower than that of the ordinary hard alloy, but higher than the high speed steel. The toughness and technological properties are higher than the general cemented carbide, but lower than the high speed steel.
It properly fills the blank of the existing cemented carbide and high speed steel in the performance of the two, so it can be used to make bits, milling cutters, broaches, hob and other tools. When it is used to process stainless steel, heat-resistant steel and nonferrous alloy, the effect is very good.
3, Wear-Resistant Structural Parts
Due to the good performance such as high strength and high toughness, tungsten carbide is often superior to tungsten - free cemented carbide and has resistance to adhesion and wear resistance, so it can be used in short time without lubrication.
