Tungsten Scheelite Shear Flocculation Flotation Method

Tungsten scheelite shear flocculation floating method is newly applied method in recent years in China. It is firstly used by Swedish which mainly used to deal with tungsten scheelite with low grade and high impurity content.

Shear flocculation floating method working principle is under high speed strong stirring, use collecting agent to accumulate fine tungsten grain. The accumulated tungsten scheelite has higher floatability and is easy to select.

The key of shear flocculation floating method is strong stirring and high efficiency collecting agent. The common used flocculation agent is polyacrylamide, carboxymethylcellulose, starch and humic acid.

Shear flocculation floating method working process:

1.Stir grinded coarse mineral slurry to generate huge shear force, collect with polyacrylamide at the same time.

2.Use collecting agent to absorb hydrophobic bonding force on the surface of mineral grain, fine tungsten scheelite will form into flocculation.

3.After forming into flocculation, tungsten scheelite grain floating speed is faster than dispersed grain, it is easy to be floated and recycled.

Shear flocculation floating method has advantages of high recycle efficiency, can deal with tungsten scheelite with low grade, high impurity content and fine grain size. It is solution for explored tungsten ore with low economic value. For some exhausted tungsten mine, it remains a sustainable method. When composites of ore is complex, the method can be used to obtain low grade concentrate with WO3 content 30%, then by chemical beneficiation to obtain ammonium paratungstate. In terms of economy, it is workable.
