1. Analysis of China's Rare Earth Prices in February 2025

According to China Tungsten Online, the price of China's rare earth products in February 2025 showed a fluctuating upward trend.

Among them, the price of praseodymium oxide increased by about RMB 41,000/ton, an increase of 9.58%, the price of neodymium oxide increased by about RMB 44,000/ton, an increase of 10.48%, the price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide increased by about RMB 33,000/ton, an increase of 7.91%, the price of praseodymium-neodymium metal increased by about RMB 38,000/ton, an increase of 7.39%, the price of terbium oxide increased by about RMB 510,000/ton, an increase of 8.56%, the price of dysprosium oxide increased by about RMB 70,000/ton, an increase of 4.19%, and the price of dysprosium-iron alloy increased by about RMB 40,000/ton, an increase of 2.44%.

In February, the Raw Materials Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology drafted the "Measures for the Administration of Total Control of Rare Earth Mining and Rare Earth Smelting and Separation (Interim) (Draft for Public Comments)" and the "Measures for the Administration of Information Traceability of Rare Earth Products (Interim) (Draft for Public Comments)", which enhanced market confidence. Moreover, downstream users' inquiries increased after the Spring Festival, manufacturers' production capacity was released slowly, and the import volume of overseas rare earth products was limited.

In February, due to the arrival of the Spring Festival holiday, a greater number of cold-weather days, stricter environmental protection policies, and the persistently low prices of rare earth raw materials, many rare earth manufacturers reduced their production. In addition, the import of Myanmar ore was restricted, and the spot supply of raw materials in the market became increasingly difficult to increase, which prompted suppliers to generally raise their quotations.

2. Average Prices of Rare Earth Products in February 2025

In February, the prices of most rare earth products in China rose both month-on-month and year-on-year. Among them, the average price of praseodymium oxide was 452,368 yuan/ton, up 7.32% from the previous month and 11.74% from the previous year; the average price of neodymium oxide was 445,684 yuan/ton, up 8.18% from the previous month and 11.21% from the previous year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide was 436,263 yuan/ton, up 7.39% from the previous month and 11.88% from the previous year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium metal was 537,526 yuan/ton, up 7.38% from the previous month and 10.08% from the previous year; the average price of terbium oxide was 6,136,000 yuan/ton, up 4.85% from the previous month and 9.96% from the previous year; the average price of dysprosium oxide was 1,718,947 yuan/ton, up 4.14% from the previous month and down 9.53% from the previous year; the average price of dysprosium-iron alloy was 1,693,158 yuan/ton, up 5.09% from the previous month and down 10.12% from the previous year.

In January and February 2025, the prices of most rare earth products in China rose year-on-year. Among them, the average price of praseodymium oxide was 437,806 yuan/ton, up 5.04% year-on-year; the average price of neodymium oxide was 429,778 yuan/ton, up 4.24% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide was 422,083 yuan/ton, up 4.77% year-on-year; the average price of praseodymium-neodymium metal was 520,083 yuan/ton, up 3.95% year-on-year; the average price of terbium oxide was 6,002,000 yuan/ton, up 0.67% year-on-year; the average price of dysprosium oxide was 1,686,667 yuan/ton, down 16.54% year-on-year; the average price of dysprosium-iron alloy was 1,654,417 yuan/ton, down 6.98% year-on-year.
