Baotou Rare Earth Prices Mostly Increased Month-on-Month in July 2025

Recently, the Baotou Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology reported that, in July 2025, among the 36 key industrial products monitored in Baotou, compared to the previous month, the prices of 4 products—high-carbon ferrochrome, photovoltaic modules, metallic lanthanum, and metallic cerium—remained stable; the prices of 23 products, including hot-rolled coils, A00 aluminum, polysilicon, and neodymium oxide, increased; and the prices of 9 products, such as rebar, polypropylene, and fluorite, decreased. Compared to the same month last year, the prices of 24 products, including seamless pipes, polyethylene, and PVC, decreased, while the prices of 12 products, including A00 aluminum, polysilicon, and praseodymium-neodymium metal, increased.

Among these, regarding Baotou rare earth prices for July 2025, among the 8 key monitored rare earth products, the largest month-on-month price increase was for rare earth carbonate, with an average price of 38,844 yuan per ton, increased by 2,910 yuan per ton, a rise of 8.1%, and increased by 9,559 yuan per ton year-on-year, a rise of 32.6%. The largest year-on-year increase was for cerium oxide, with an average price of 10,863 yuan per ton, decreased by 38 yuan per ton month-on-month, a drop of 0.3%, and increased by 3,603 yuan per ton year-on-year, a rise of 49.6%.

According to CTIA GROUP LTD, in July 2025, the prices of most rare earth products in China increased both month-on-month and year-on-year. The average price of praseodymium oxide was 491,565 yuan per ton, increased by 6.80% month-on-month, and increased by 32.67% year-on-year; neodymium oxide averaged 481,174 yuan per ton, increased by 6.84% month-on-month, and increased by 29.86% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium oxide averaged 476,739 yuan per ton, increased by 7.29% month-on-month, and increased by 31.46% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium metal averaged 582,435 yuan per ton, increased by 6.85% month-on-month, and increased by 30.05% year-on-year; terbium oxide averaged 7,151 yuan per kilogram, decreased by 0.42% month-on-month, and increased by 38.26% year-on-year; dysprosium oxide averaged 1,664,783 yuan per ton, increased by 1.71% month-on-month, and decreased by 4.06% year-on-year; and ferro-dysprosium averaged 1,607,826 yuan per ton, increased by 1.25% month-on-month, and decreased by 5.35% year-on-year.

For the 3 key monitored non-ferrous metal products in Baotou in July 2025, the average price of A00 aluminum was 20,705 yuan per ton, increased by 188 yuan per ton month-on-month, a rise of 0.9%, and increased by 979 yuan per ton year-on-year, a rise of 5.0%. The average price of 1# magnesium ingot was 17,888 yuan per ton, increased by 276 yuan per ton month-on-month, a rise of 1.6%, and decreased by 1,613 yuan per ton year-on-year, a drop of 8.3%. The average price of 1# copper was 79,410 yuan per ton, increased by 437 yuan per ton month-on-month, a rise of 0.6%, and increased by 1,834 yuan per ton year-on-year, a rise of 2.4%.
