A Large Scheelite Deposit Was Discovered in Shadong, Xinjiang

It was revealed by Xinjiang Geology and Mine Bureau, a large scheelite mine was discovered in Shadong, Xinjiang province, it is estimated that the tungsten resources reserves could be 30 to 50 thousand tons. This is the first mine deposit be discovered in Dongtian shan Mountain.
Tungsten belongs to non-ferrous metals and is of strategic value. Tungsten and tungsten alloy are important material for modern industries, national defenses and high-tech applications, they are widely applied in aero-space, electronic and electron industries.
According to the report of China News Network, Xingjia Geology and Mine Bureau said that the discovery has taken 3 years. In 2010 when scouts were making survey in Shadong, they found tungsten clues, through drilling and map plotting they finally got scheelite ores. The mine area extents 208km and the widest width is 350 meter. Three ore bodies are delimited, among which the highest grade is 5.12% and average grade is 0.85%.
The head of Shadong mining project Jiangxiao told the reporter “:Tungsten prospecting is making a breakthrough.”
