Yellow Tungsten Oxide Applied for Electrochromic Film

Yellow tungsten oxide can be used to produce electrochromic film. And the prepared thin film can be used in smart windows, including building smart windows and automotive smart windows, providing solutions for building energy efficiency. The following describes a method for preparing a yellow tungsten oxide nano array electrochromic film, comprising the following steps:

Step one: dissolve white tungstic acid in an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution and add water to prepare a peroxy tungstic acid solution containing a tungsten concentration of 1-5mol/L. The peroxy tungstic acid solution of a concentration of 1-5mol/L is advantageous for coating on the conductive surface of a clean conductive substrate. If the concentration is too high or too low, it will make the coating difficulty greatly increased. The formation of a specific morphology during the reaction and heat treatment greatly affects the performance of the tungsten trioxide nano array electrochromic film.

Step two: coat the peroxy tungstic acid solution prepared at step one on the conductive surface of the clean conductive substrate to obtain a conductive substrate covered with the seed layer;

Step three: dissolve the tungsten salt in the alcohol to form a precursor solution, fixing the conductive substrate covered with the seed layer in step two to the reaction kettle, adding the precursor solution to the reaction vessel, react at 150°C-250°C for 8h-16h. After heat removal, heat treatment is carried out at 350°C-450°C for 1h-3h to obtain a tungsten trioxide nano-array electrochromic film.
