The seed layer and urea play a key role in hydrothermal growth. When there is no seed layer, the prepared film is composed of nanorods with a flower-like structure; When a layer of seed crystal is prepared in advance by a sol-gel method on the surface of the FTO, a hydrothermal reaction is carried out to obtain a porous structure film in which nanosheet are alternately arranged. The presence of urea enables the hydrated tungsten trioxide film prepared by the seed-assisted hydrothermal method to have a stronger ion storage capacity, thus exhibiting a larger light modulation range, a faster response speed, and a higher coloring efficiency. In addition, the seed crystal assisted hydrothermal method solves the problems of long reaction time and high reaction temperature of the conventional seed crystal assisted hydrothermal method.
